Stargate Universe
Friday 13th May, 2011 09:45
I've never been much of a Stargate fan, I was aware of its existence over the years, but I was more of a Star Trek fan. However, the cast and premise for Stargate Universe sounded interesting so I gave it a chance. I'm glad I did, as I've enjoyed every episode. I'm gutted that it's coming to an end, after just 2 seasons, with no current plans to properly answer the many questions that have been left open. No wonder ratings for TV shows are dropping, as people are reluctant to watch a show unless they know it'll last and have a chance to end properly (Lost was one of those few shows given that opportunity, but sadly they made the wrong choice of storyline in the final season). Frustratingly, Stargate Universe was cancelled for low ratings, but Sanctuary was renewed even though it's got half the viewers (admittedly it's cheaper to make). I know TV is a business and must make money, but (much like the movie industry) it needs good original content or people will stop watching.
