FireStick 4K Max
Monday 31st January, 2022 11:52
I've used and liked Amazon FireStick 4K devices in the past, with their wide support for the competing HDR outputs, but they seemed to have their limitations (particularly around bandwidth and decoding). Recently the one hooked up to the TV seemed to be playing up so we upgraded to a FireStick 4K Max. It's meant to offer better performance, but it really seemed to offer much better performance. Very impressed.
Long Covid
Tuesday 4th January, 2022 11:11
Twitter made me stumble upon these depressing but interesting Covid articles (note, not peer reviewed): The summary is that Covid has been detected in the brain up to 230 days after an infection, and the current vaccines only seem to protect the lungs and not the brain. This may help explain why Long Covid is a thing for some people. I'm trying my best to avoid catching it, despite being vaccinated.
